About the Company
A leading Insurance Company based in Dubai is looking for an Actuarial Analyst to join their team.
About the Role
- Develop pricing for new products as proposed by CHO and senior management
- Monitor pricing adequacy of existing health insurance products of the company on an ongoing basis, make recommendations to CHO for alterations to pricing as necessary on a timely basis
- Develop actuarial group rating models and tools , in coordination with underwriting and claims teams, for use by underwriting staff
- Develop associated dynamic portfolio evaluation / decision support models
- Perform financial feasibility, performance and scenario modelling on product proposals
- Monitor portfolio performance on a regular basis and provide adequate and timely reporting to CHO, for stratified categories of the portfolios, and make recommendations for new/additional stratifications on basis of monitoring
- Monitor Third Party Administrator performance in line with targets and KPIs developed with CHO and other management
- Review existing reinsurance structures and propose enhancements or new structures to optimise performance / minimise risks
- Develop rating tools / matrices, based on actuarial principles, for areas of operations identified by the CHO
- Support Business Intelligence team as applicable in developing, optimising and utilising business intelligence and management tools as relates to health insurance activities
- Support claims team in creating and operating supplier performance and tariff application models/tools
- Evaluate existing database and dataset structures, reports etc. and recommend enhancements or additions to meet the company’s needs and improve data transparency and availability
- Other tasks as specified from time to time by the CHO
About the Individual
- Prior experience either in pricing, portfolio analysis or reserving within a medical insurance context required, with experience of credibility rating required
- Prior experience or knowledge of other care covers (e.g.critical illness, income protection, LTC) preferable
- Knowledge of GLM models, regression models required
- Prior experience of reinsurance preferable
- MS Excel and VBA proficient as minimum
- Experience in SQL
- Knowledge of SAS, Prophet or R preferable
- Previous experience or knowledge of machine learning, neural networks etc. preferable
- Candidate must demonstrate strong analytical capabilities, ability to communicate with management and external stakeholders
- Candidate must demonstrate experience of working with large datasets
